Sentiments of a Woman
for Girls
SOW-G provides a group setting to female youth between the ages of 13 and 17 who are involved with or demonstrate a significant risk to engage with the Justice System. This may include girls who are in-care or in custody.
SOW-G’s 8-week curriculum provides our participants with an interactive learning while supporting them and aiding in their efforts to make healthy community associations. SOW-G participants gain access to mentors, engage with law enforcement, leaders in the local community, visit educational institutions and work sites all while exploring their thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns. SOW-G’s curriculum is led by a trained Facilitator who addresses this unique population in a therapeutic way. During these group sessions, protective factors are emphasized and criminogenic qualities are confronted. SOW-G runs continually and provides ongoing support to SOW-G graduates on an as-needed basis.
